A Hymn for Easter

A Hymn for Easter 2024

In shadows deep where darkness dwells

Where silence boasts, and all fear hell,

I hear a bold and faithful cry,

“My Savior lives - and so shall I!”

Chorus

Christ lives, Christ lives, the Savior stands,

On Earth's expanse with outstretched hands.

He summons all to Come and Live -

Though flesh may fail, and days grow dim,

Yet found in him, we all shall live.

Yes, found in him, we all shall live.

The darkest night, the deepest pain,

Cannot the hope of Heaven stain

For He who rose, the grave defies,

My Savior lives, and so shall I!

Though legions march, a hellish clan,

They fall before the Son of Man.

His blood avails, and devils die.

My Savior lives, and so shall I!

Upon the earth, His feet shall stand,

The last day breaks at His command.

And though this body turns to dust,

Yet in my Savior will I trust.

Bridge

For He who rose, the grave defies,

My Savior lives, and so shall I!

My Savior lives, and so shall I!

And on that day when all’s restored

When all will bow and hail him Lord

He’ll call our name and we shall cry,

“My Savior Lives - and so do I!”

Chorus

Christ lives, Christ lives, the Savior stands,

On Earth's expanse with outstretched hands.

He summons all to Come and Live -

Though flesh may fail, and days grow dim,

Yet found in him, we all shall live.

Yes, found in him, we all shall live.
